Oconaluftee River Trail
Enjoy a history rich and family favorite one-and-a-half mile long trail along the Oconaluftee River
The Oconaluftee River Trail is located at the Great Smoky Mountains National Park Visitor Center in Cherokee, NC. This trail is not just known for its natural scenic beauty, but also for the Mountain Farm Museum, a 19th-century style interactive farm museum that proceeds the trail. Visitors can enjoy over 40 species of wildflowers along this route in the spring and this location is a hot spot for viewing Elk, Wild Turkey, and other wildlife.
