Easter on The Green - March 29-31, Cashiers

The Village Green is the heart of Cashiers, and the last weekend in March it hosts Easter on the Green, a series of holiday events sure to bring joy and hope to all ages. It begins with a Stations of the Cross service on Good Friday afternoon, followed by an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday morning. Sunday brings an Easter Sunrise Service at 7 a.m. on The Village Green Commons Lawn.

The Easter Hat Parade - March 30, Dillsboro

Antique cars, the Easter bunny, an egg hunt and... hats! Lots and lots of hats. Dillsboro's Easter Hat Parade is a tradition that celebrates the season in an expression of springtime style. The parade takes place on Front Street and awards are given in every category imaginable. No hat? No problem! Create your own at Dogwood Crafters on Webster Street. See you there! Catamount Climb Half Marathon & 5K - April 6, Cullowhee

On your mark... Get set... Go! On Saturday, April 6, Western Carolina University's campus will host the Catamount Climb, two races guaranteed to excite and challenge runners of all levels. The 5K course navigates through the heart of campus, while the half marathon begins and ends at WCU. Proceeds (from entry fees and sponsorships) support student professional development and travel as well as academic scholarships.

Partial Solar Eclipse - April 8

On Monday, April 8, a solar eclipse will cross North America, passing over Mexico, the United States and Canada. In Jackson County, approximately 85% of the sun will be obscured, with the maximum point happening just after 3 p.m. What better place to experience this celestial phenomenon than the beautiful mountains?

Greening Up the Mountains - April 27, Sylva

Celebrating Earth Day, sustainability and the arrival of spring, Greening Up the Mountains is a free heritage arts festival - now in its 26th year - that takes place in historic downtown Sylva. It brings together traditional and contemporary forms of Appalachian art, music, food and drink. About 12,000 attendees peruse the creations from about 150 artisan vendors showcasing paintings, pottery, jewelry, stained glass, soaps, candles and more! Sponsored by the Town of Sylva and the Main Street Sylva Association, the festival will take place along Main Street and in the paved lot adjacent to Bridge Park on April 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The festival also features a full schedule of activities that begins with a 5K run and includes beverage arts featuring local craft breweries and live music throughout the day. Free and paid parking will be available throughout downtown Sylva. A shuttle service will be available, as well. A drop-off location will be provided for visitors who need accessibility. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, provided they are on a leash.
