Soco Falls

Witness two waterfalls coming together to majestically display a beautiful cascade

Located a short drive from Cherokee, Soco Falls’ is one of the few double waterfalls you will find in Western North Carolina. This hidden gem featuring a 120-foot cascade is stunning as the sun rises and sets through the foliage behind it. The path down to the waterfall is muddy and slippery with a rope guiding you down, so bring sturdy shoes. The falls are equally as stunning in the winter and can be heard roaring from the roadside.

Directions to Trailhead

From where US 19 runs under the Blue Ridge Parkway at Soco Gap, drive north on US 19 toward Cherokee. A pullout is on the left 1.5 miles from the parkway. Park here.

Hike Description

An obvious path leads to a viewing deck that provides a good view of the falls. A scramble path goes down from the deck to the base of the falls. The path is steep and washed away in places.
