WNC Pottery Festival

Showcasing the work of more than 40 master potters from 13 states. A variety of clay art styles will be presented. Pre-show events - including the Clay Olympics - will be held on Friday. The event is juried and the lineup of potters is impressive. The event has been named one of the "Top 20" events in the Southeast for November. $5 ticket includes a chance in a raffle; kids under 12 admitted free. Click here for more information.

Santa on the Green & Cashiers Christmas Tree Lighting

The park becomes a winter wonderland! Children of all ages are invited to come and tell Santa Claus their Christmas wishes. The Festival of Trees celebrates one of the area's greatest industries and showcases local businesses. After the holiday season, the evergreen trees are planted in The Village Green for continued enjoyment. Cashiers Christmas Tree Lighting Holiday music, s'mores and more! Mountain Artisans Hard Candy Christmas

Over a hundred regional artisans have their handmade on display for sale in this folk and heritage craft show. This is a two-day show over Dec. 1 & 2, 2018. The show has everything from quilters to soap makers, basket makers, leather craftsmen, master jewelers and more. Started in 1987, the event has grown every year and now takes place at Western Carolina University's Ramsey Center in Cullowhee, North Carolina. Children under 12 free & free parking.

Sylva Christmas Parade

Downtown Sylva's annual Christmas parade draws hundreds to Historic Main Street for celebration, cheer and a chance to see Santa. The themed parade, featuring 50+ floats usually starts at and ends at Mark Watson Park after a loop through town. The start time is 2 p.m., and the parade  lasts 45 minutes to an hour. For more information please call 828-586-2719 or click here.

Journey back to the days of yesteryear. Experience the magic as the entire town is transformed into a winter wonderland of lights, candles, laughter, and song! 2500 luminaries light your way to shops and studios. Horse and buggy rides are available each night and shopkeepers provide live music and serve holiday treats with hot cider and cocoa. Carolers sing and children visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus and there is a live Nativity at Jarrett Memorial Baptist Church. The event has been named as one of the "Top 20" events in the Southeast for the month of December. Free shuttle service from Monteith Park. Click here for more information.

Cashiers Christmas Parade Block Party

Due to forecast deteriorating and severe weather conditions, the 44th Annual Cashiers Christmas Parade will NOT be held as scheduled. Instead, join us for the Cashiers Christmas Parade Block Party on Tuesday, 12/11, 3:30 to 5:30 on Frank Allen Road where floats, entertainment, and Santa & Mrs. Claus will host a 'Parade Promenade" for the public to enjoy. Cashiers Cares will host their traditional fund raising meal at the firehouse. Frank Allen Road will be closed to vehicular traffic from the Recreation center to the Fire dDepartment. See the Cashiers Area Chamber Facebook page and below map for additional details. Please attend and support our parade participants who enthusiastically prepared for this special event. ---------------------- This year’s theme is “Over the River and Through the Woodes” in celebration of Camp Merrie-Woode’s centennial anniversary who will serve as this year’s Grand Marshal. Participants are encouraged to feature “Merrie Mountain Christmas Traditions” on their entries. Parade lineup and check-in will start at 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning at the South entrance of Cashiers School Road by Cashiers United Methodist Church. Cashiers School Road will remain one way beginning Saturday morning in preparation for parade participants’ safety during line-up. The one-mile parade route will start at Cornucopia Restaurant and head North on Hwy 107 toward the Crossroads then turn West on US Highway 64 ending at the Cashiers Community Center on Frank Allen Road for the annual Cashiers Cares Community Luncheon and meet and greet with Santa.
