Old Bald Trail
Suitable for all hikers, this easy, well-marked trail features panoramic views from Old Bald Ridge.
Now part of the Roy Taylor National Forest, Old Bald is a long, high ridge that connects the Blue Ridge Parkway and Caney Fork. Before it became part of the Nantahala National Forest around 1980, some 200 head of cattle once grazed the area’s grassy slopes. Click here to view/download the Old Bald Trail topographic map.
